What our logo printing covers
Before anything goes to print, we check the artwork for size, placement and printability. Thin lines, tiny type and gradient fills may need adjustment so the final result stays legible. If your brand uses a strict colour palette, we match as closely as the bag material and print method allow. For some finishes, a direct tonal match is better than forcing a colour that wont hold well.
We also advise on minimum logo size, because a small mark can lose detail on a curved or stitched area. As a practical guide, most clear logo placements start from about 60 mm wide, while larger event branding can run up to 220 mm wide depending on the bag. For busy artwork, we often suggest a cleaner one-colour version for better impact and lower setup costs.
- Artwork checked for resolution, spacing and print area limits
- Guidance on one-colour, two-colour or full-colour options
- Placement advice for front panels, gussets and pocket areas
- Proof supplied before production where needed
How the process works from file to finished bag
We keep the process straightforward so procurement teams can move quickly. Once we receive your enquiry through the contact page, we assess the bag type, quantity and artwork. If your logo needs setup work, Thabo and the production team prepare the file for printing and confirm any adjustments needed. After approval, the order is scheduled for production and checked at each stage.
On standard runs, the workflow is simple: artwork review, sample positioning, print, curing or setting, then final quality check. For event work with split delivery or grouped packs, Zanele manages dispatch so the right quantities go to the right site. If a rush order is needed, we will confirm what is possible before committing, especially when the order includes multiple bag types or mixed print positions.
- 1. Enquiry and artwork submission
- 2. Print method and placement confirmed
- 3. Proof or sample mark prepared if required
- 4. Production, curing and inspection
- 5. Packing, labelling and dispatch
Turnaround times for local and national orders
Turnaround depends on quantity, print complexity and the bag material. Simple logo printing on stock held in Montague Gardens can often move faster than mixed orders that need multiple brand colours or special packing. For Cape Town deliveries, lead times are usually shorter because we can move stock directly from the studio. Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban and Gqeberha orders need a little more planning for transport and handover.
As a general rule, standard logo printing jobs take around 5 to 10 working days after artwork approval. Larger corporate runs or orders with bulk packing and split delivery may take 10 to 15 working days. During busy event seasons, please allow extra time. In coastal areas like Durban and Gqeberha we also consider humidity when packing and storing printed bags, so the finish stays clean on arrival.
- Standard runs: 5 to 10 working days
- Bulk or mixed orders: 10 to 15 working days
- Rush orders: subject to stock, artwork readiness and print load
- Local delivery planning for Cape Town, Bellville and Somerset West support areas
Pricing approach and what changes the cost
Pricing is based on the bag type, print size, number of colours, quantity and the level of setup needed. A simple one-colour logo on a standard promotional bag costs less per unit than a complex multi-colour print on a textured surface. Larger runs usually lower the unit price, while small batch work can be costlier because the setup time is the same. That is normal for print work.
We quote clearly so you know what is included. Artwork setup, print application, quality checks and packing can be priced into the job, or split out where the order needs special handling. If you are ordering for multiple branches or event sites, we can also quote for split delivery from the start. That helps with budgeting and avoids last-minute add-ons.
- Quantity affects unit price more than almost anything else
- More colours usually mean higher setup and print time
- Special placements or oversized logos may require extra setup
- Bulk orders can be packed by site, team or event pack
Materials, print limits and finish options
Different bag surfaces take print differently, so we match the method to the material. Smooth synthetic panels usually give the sharpest result, while textured or stitched areas need more careful placement. For bags with zips, seams, webbing or curved fronts, we keep the artwork within a flat zone so the logo doesnt distort. That matters when the bags will be used often and handled by different people.
We also consider wear. A conference bag that is handed out once can take a lighter finish, but a daily-use belt bag for staff should have stronger adhesion and cleaner edges. Where needed, we recommend a test print or sample to confirm the look before the full run. It saves time and avoids disappointment when the bags arrive at the event or office.
- Best print results on flat, smooth panels
- Curved or heavily stitched areas need smaller artwork
- Heavier-use bags need durable adhesion and proper curing
- Sample approval is useful for new styles or mixed materials
Keeping printed bags in good condition
Printed bags stay looking better when they are stored flat, kept dry and not crushed under heavy stock. If you are using them for events, avoid folding the printed area tight around zips or buckles before issue. Light cleaning with a soft cloth is usually enough for most promotional bag surfaces. Harsh scrubbing, bleach and strong solvents can lift the print or dull the finish.
For reorders, it helps to keep the original artwork and print spec on file. If a design is used regularly for roadshows, exhibitions or internal events, we suggest reviewing it every 6 to 12 months for wear, colour shift and branding updates. That keeps the look consistent across batches and avoids mismatched stock when new teams join or a campaign changes.
- Store in a dry area away from direct sun and damp floors
- Wipe with a soft cloth, not abrasive pads
- Avoid washing unless the bag type is approved for it
- Review repeat print files every 6 to 12 months
